Relieve Your Pandemic Fatigue

The mask mandate has been lifted for the moment and I feel such a sense of relief and elation to see the faces of the people in our community again. The weight on my shoulders feels lighter and there is more freedom when I go out to socialize in the world. It almost feels back to normal. Then I have to sober myself to the fact that the pandemic is not over.

Once I come back to that reality, I feel the familiar pressure of the last 2 years to remember the protocol: be careful, stay well, social distance, socialize outside, etc. The fatigue returns and my spirit droops as I continue to trudge through these difficult times. One of the best remedies I have found to combat the fatigue, stress and pressure is to seek retreat. Even if it is for a day, a weekend, or more–I get away, get into nature, rest and recharge.

Seeking retreat is one of the best ways to take care of yourself. It is an act of self-love. You are no good to anyone or your life path if you’re exhausted from working so hard to keep it all together; emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually. It’s a win-win when you take care of yourself.  Your cup runneth over, so to speak, and you have the energy to take care of your family and community.

I speak from experience. Once I finally started taking more time to go on weekend retreats to the coast or day retreats for surfing, I was able to show up and be present for my family and patients.

One of my favorite retreats is, of course, the Indigo Meditation Retreat. 3 days of sinking into deep, nourishing relaxation, relishing in healing waters and reaching the type of rest that you feel at a cellular level. Being around people that exude unconditional love and acceptance, that smile with their entire face and see you as chosen family. It is such a extraordinary healing experience.

The next Indigo Meditation Retreat is at Summer Lake Hot Springs, one of my favorite places to visit in southern Oregon. While meditation will nourish you from the inside out, the hot springs of Summer Lake will refresh you from the outside in.

Contact myself or Oriona with any questions you have about meditation or the upcoming retreat.

All Love…Luke
